Resource of the Week:My
Heroes At Home. The Parenting Minute and AWTR
Mess Hall!
Army Wife Talk Radio is the internet talk radio
show designed specifically for army wives by army
wives. Our Life. Our Family. Our Soldier. We feature information, special reports,
empowerment, inspiration, stories
and interviews that affect YOU!
Army Wife Talk Radio is a weekly LIVE 1 hour show that is available
every Monday via our website. You can download the
archived audio or stream it and listen through your computer. The
show includes information relative to military spouses
and families; many different topics are
covered each week.
Our purpose is to motivate, inspire, and empower Army
wives worldwide to make the most of their lifestyle
choice. We strive to do this by providing helpful information,
interviews, and tips that take the guesswork out of
Army life. We also provide forums & conferences, in which
relationships can be formed and people can "grow".
What Army Wife Talk Radio is not:
Army Wife Talk Radio is not a broadcast radio show
via a radio station. (at least not yet, yes we would
love to be added to a radio station and syndicated)
Army Wife Talk Radio is not affiliated with the Department
of Defense.
Army Wife Talk Radio is not the 'official' word, our
views and opinions are of personal nature.
Army Wife Talk Radio is not a solution to all your
problems. (don't you wish it were?)
Army Wife Talk Radio is not a place to vent or publicly
humiliate your FRG leader or Commander's wife.
Civility must take precedence over temper in all of our
conversations.
Army Wife Talk Radio is not a fly by night business,
personal forum for vents & politics, or a get rich quick
scheme. We are here for support & education, not
sensationalism.
Army Wife
Talk Radio was born in March of 2005 on a whim.
Tara Crooks, founder of
www.ArmyWifeTalkRadio.com
and previous owner of
www.AdvertisingMoms.com
had often cohosted
www.wahmtalkradio.com
with Kelly McCausey. In 2005, McCausey launched an e-book
“Shoestring Radio”. Crooks was interested
and started playing with audio. Knowing that she had
many experiences, stories, and information to share
with fellow Army wives, Crooks did what came natural.
The rest is history….
Tara is the owner of Army Wife Talk Radio & Field
Problems. She is “household 6” as well as taking
care of daily operations of these two successful sites.
Tara is the Proud Work At Home Mama of Wrena and Chloe, and wife
to MAJ Kevin Crooks, US Army. She holds a Bachelor of
Business Administration in Human Resource Management.
Tara started her original home business, which she has
since sold, The Candle Coop in 2001 to be able to raise
her daughter in a more stable environment, given her
husband's career choice. To meet Tara and learn more

Starlett is an Army Veteran and Army
Wife to GA National Guardsman David Henderson. She received
a B.S. in Scientific and Technical Writing from Michigan
Technological University where she also received her
commission and assignment to Fort Stewart, GA in 1997.
She spent time there as a soldier and Department of
the Army (DA) Civilian supporting soldiers and families
of the highly deployed 3d Infantry Division (3ID). While
assigned to 3ID, she augmented 1st Cavalry
Division (Fort Hood, TX) during their deployment to
Bosnia, remained as part of a rear detachment for 3ID’s
deployment to Bosnia and served as a DA Budget Analyst
at the outset of Iraqi Freedom.
Starlett left Fort Stewart to further
her interest in taking care of soldiers and their families.
In 2003, she started a Master’s Degree in Professional
Counseling, which was received in November 2005. All
the while, Star and David are raising former military
brat, Thomas and latecomer, Tara. She hopes to be to
work full-time soon in a career that will allow her
to assist soldiers and their families with their growing
mental health concerns.

Miller AWTR Sponsorship Liason & Newbie Minute
Leah is the host of the Newbie Minute and Advertising Administrator
here at Army Wife Talk Radio.
Leah is a proud and loving wife to US Army Medic Mark Miller. They
have been married just shy of 4 years, a couple for 10 years, and
best-friends since childhood. Their only child so far is their
weimaraner dog, Major. Leah is an Army Brat born at the old Brooke
Army Medical Center. She is a Certified Event Planner and is also
working on her degree in Photography, focusing on Photo Journalism.
Her goal is to work for world news publications and publish photos
that will impact the world's view of military member and their
families for the better.
Having interviewed 75
couples married 50-plus years across the
country, Sheryl P.
Kurland is the “voice” of the “voices of
experience” – the real-life relationship
experts. Over 4,000 years of marriage insight
and advice are compilated in the coffee-table book
Everlasting Matrimony: Pearls Of Wisdom From Couples
Married 50 Years Or More. Not only is Ms.
Kurland the only author to have interviewed
such a sizable collective of couples married more than
5 decades, she furthered her distinction by
interviewing husbands and wives separately.
The couples represent a "sprinkling of America," from
all different faiths, ethnicities and backgrounds.
Contrary to the colossal number of today’s traditional
self-help books, each espousing an analyst’s “how-to”
brand to the perfect relationship, Everlasting
Matrimonyfills
an abyss by providing
experience over
analysis...the expertise of ordinary folks
who’ve walked-the-walk and talked-the-talk.
