Waiting

Sitting here in our three bedroom palace
with plain white walls and no one to tell us
when you will be home or how long you will stay
We just pray to God that you will be ok.

Day by day, minute by minute
seeing the news and hope you aren't in it.
Having the fear you won't come home
I don't like the feeling of being alone.

I know you will make it back to me some way or another
and so you can be with your son and daughter.
They miss their Daddy so much I can see
I don't know what to tell my little babies.

Daddy will be home soon, please don't fret
and you know your Daddy and he would never forget
that we love him so much and pray for his safety.
But do not tell them the horrible possibilities.

Bring him home safe, that is all I ask
I think that should be a simple task.
He is a Soldier for God and Country
We are part of the United States Army!
